Marc A. Ross is a communications strategist providing advisory and management services to improve global performance.

Ross specializes in communications for global business working at the intersection of globalization, disruption, and politics. Ross has extensive experience in thought leadership, public affairs, and communications for companies as well as leading the advocacy operations, fundraising programs and marketing efforts for nonprofits, trade associations, and political campaigns, many for the highest offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Ross’ work in government relations, public affairs, and communications has allowed him to work on many diverse public policy issues, such as global climate change, national energy policy, natural resource management, auto retailing, intellectual property, technology antitrust, US-China commercial relations, and international trade. Also, his experience working with several startups and entrepreneurs has allowed him to wear many hats, including marketing, business development, finance, and strategy.

Ross has an MBA with an emphasis on international business and global commerce from the University of North Carolina’s OneMBA program at the Kenan-Flagler Business School.

He is the former communications director for the US-China Business Council (USCBC) where he was responsible for developing, enabling and executing a global communications strategy that delivered targeted messaging, trade reports, commentary, issue briefs, and a digital magazine to USCBC's diverse stakeholders utilizing various media tools with the intent of protecting and enhancing US-China commercial relations. Ross was the primary media liaison for USCBC and interacted daily with top-tier global media outlets, business reporters, columnists, editors, and producers based in North America, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia who cover US-China commercial relations.

Ross is the founder of the global network Brigadoon, where entrepreneurs and thought leaders gather to discuss emerging issues shaping commerce and culture, and served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University teaching a course on globalization and American politics.

Ross is a frequent speaker, commentator, and author on all matters of global business and public affairs, international communications and marketing as well as political campaigns. He has been a guest speaker at Wisconsin's School of Business, Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Utah State's Huntsman School of Business, and the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business on how politics impacts global business as well as the rise of new media for grassroots advocacy and political communications.

Brendan Kownacki (Audio + Video + Event Production)

Brendan is a savvy media professional who is strategically implementing national communications and public affairs campaigns for public entities and private companies, and has launched several national brands.

As a noted innovator in the media, Brendan prides himself on thinking ‘outside the box’ and developing unconventional methods for leveraging a client’s product, brand or message. Brendan is especially proud of being on the leading edge of communications for the last five years pairing traditional methods with online and interactive media tools. His message is simple: social media makes spokespersons of every employee, customer, client and stakeholder.

Brendan is also an experienced producer, working—among other endeavors—with FOX television, numerous documentaries, TV commercials, corporate videos, and broadcast national news pieces. In 2009, Brendan worked with several national networks simultaneously to deliver coverage of the 2009 Inaugural events to national and international audiences. 

Brendan has been cited as an expert in local and national print and broadcast media sources and his diverse blend of experience ranges from policy initiatives directed at technology in education funding to global hunger relief and analysis of the American political spectrum. 

Brendan is a graduate of American University in Washington D.C. with a degree in Political Science and Public Communication.

Jamian Ronca Spadavecchia (Legal + Research)

Jamian has worked at the confluence of politics, public policy, law, and business since 1999. He brings his multidisciplinary expertise and extensive professional experience to global risk, public policy, and government affairs advisory and management. He is committed to delivering personalized and distinctive value that responds to individual client needs and challenges head-on.

Jamian is the founder and president of Oxbow Advisory, a global risk and strategic advisory firm. He consults with corporate executives, asset allocators, and institutions to provide decision analysis and advantage in managing the drivers that create, preserve, or destroy value across global markets. Jamian works one-on-one with each client to collaboratively navigate the complexities of global risk, public policy, and governmental affairs environments.

Core to Jamian’s geographic expertise is Asia + Europe, where he has nearly two decades of on the ground experience. Out of Washington DC, Jamian drives better business understanding and negotiation of how Washington shapes the global business and markets. Oxbow is sector agnostic, but coverage includes advanced manufacturing, energy/natural resources, financial, infrastructure, and technology.

Jamian is an adjunct professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, teaching within the International Trade & Economic Diplomacy MA program in Washington, DC.

Jamian has served as a foreign policy adviser to US presidential (2016) and US senate (2012) campaigns. He was a visiting scholar at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, a think-tank located in Shanghai and a researcher for the United Nations. Jamian is also a licensed attorney and prior to founding Oxbow practiced law for several years advocating for a wide-array of individual, corporate, and public sector client interests.

Jamian is often called upon to share his insights, speaking at professional conferences and lectures at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University and The George Washington University School of Business. His analysis is featured in several US and global media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, Bloomberg Business, CNBC, The Australian, The China Post, and peer-reviewed publications such as The Journal of Political Risk.
